Guangdong Financial Regulatory Bureau promotes the insurance industry to release a risk map for motor vehicle flooding accidents

In May 2024, the Guangdong Financial Regulatory Bureau guided the Guangdong Insurance Industry Association to use the reported data of vehicle flooding accidents in various cities in Guangdong from 2021 to 2023 as the basis, and rely on the national road risk map system to collect 9 factors including case density, compensation amount, and whether there is human injury to construct a risk assessment model and calculate the risk value of roads. A total of 303 medium and high-risk roads and 542 medium and high-risk areas in the province were analyzed, and a risk map and road area list for motor vehicle flooding accidents in the province in 2024 were compiled; Through industry sharing and public release, we promote insurance institutions within our jurisdiction to take proactive measures to avoid risks, improve disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief capabilities, enhance consumers' awareness of flood risk road sections, grasp flood risk information in advance, move vehicles before rainfall arrives, and effectively reduce accidents.
